The BBX occurrence is located about 1.4 kilometres northwest of the AL (Thesis II/III) past-producing mine, approximately 300 kilometres north of Smithers.

The BBX showing is underlain by rocks of the Lower Jurassic Toodoggone Formation (Hazelton Group). The Adoogacho and Metsantan members of the Toodoggone Formation underlie the area. The Adoogacho Member consists of trachydacite ash-flow tuff with lenses of lapilli tuff, rare marlstone, and conglomerate near the base. The Metsantan Member is composed mainly of trachyandesite (latite) flows with lenses of lapilli tuff, and lahar; minor volcanic sandstone and conglomerate (Bulletin 86). The Metsantan Member, in part, directly overlies the basal Adoogacho Member and is also in fault contact with it.

The BBX zone is located about 629 metres west of the Bingo zone (094E 272). Alteration at BBX is dominantly alunitic, with local silicification and argillization. The main alteration zone is bounded on the south side by a greater than 120-metre-wide hornblende-feldspar porphyry dike. A narrow zone of hematitic quartz breccia at the contact of the dike and the alunitic alteration zone contains anomalous gold.

The showing, which consists of a poorly exposed, narrow zone of hematitic silicification and brecciation, parallels the contact between the dike and extensive alunitic silicification (Assessment Report 15735). Moderate gold anomalies are reported from the BBX showing. The best gold assay was from sample PM-84-14C, taken from near the southeastern end of the showing, which was 1.38 grams per tonne gold and 0.6 gram per tonne silver (Assessment Report 15735). Several other samples were moderately anomalous in silver, analyzing 4.5 grams per tonne (86HA57) and 6.1 grams per tonne silver (86HA58) (Assessment Report 15735).

In 1986, gold anomalies originally reported by Kidd Creek Mines (1980-84 work) (formerly Texas Gulf) in the South Hump (094E 195), BBX and West Thesis were examined by Energex Mineral Ltd.

In 2007, Christopher James Gold Corp. conducted a helicopter-borne magnetic gradiometer survey consisting of 2229 line-kilometres over all historic gold deposits and MINFILE occurrences on the property, including the BBX area. Maps completed include coloured Total Magnetic Intensity, Measured 3-D Analytic Signal, Measured Vertical Magnetic Gradient, and colour-shaded Tilt Derivative of the Total Magnetic Intensity.
